I photographed this PB2Y Coronado at the Naval Aviation Museum at NAS Pensacola. This Coronado is the last survivor of 210 built and was intended as a larger, higher performance variant of the PBY Catalina. This aircraft served as an executive transport taking the staff of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz to Tokyo for the Japanese surrender ceremony on 2nd September 1945 aboard the USS Missouri (BB-63).
