Just a few sample pics of B-17G-90-BO Flying Fortress 43-38635 from my personal archives documenting the B-17s I have had the good fortune to see in person. It used to wear the nose art of Virgin’s Delight, but has since been repainted as Gen. Castle’s plane 44-8444, referred to as “Treble 4”
I visited during a family road trip and was able to get a shot of my personalized plates “B-17” with the museum’s Flying Fortress in the background. I had a great chat with Greg Stathatos, known for his efforts restoring B-17s and other warbirds with his B17Archaeology group. Greg gave me a tour of the interior as well as a look through the museum’s Restoration Hangar.
