Just a few sample pics of the B-17G 42-32076 Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby from my personal archives documenting the B-17s I have had the good fortune to see in person. It was great to see it at the National Museum of the USAF during the 447th BG reunion in Dayton, OH.
Being held for future delivery to the Smithsonian, access to the Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby is not open to the public, and it was through a very generous arrangement that Mitchell and I were escorted onto the Wright-Patterson AFB to see it and the B-17E The Swoose. We also learned about other extraordinary and unique projects they have in the works. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that we shall remember for a long long time!
Eight years later I was able to see Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby again at the NASM Udvar-Hazy facility, where she awaits reassembly and eventual display in the new Hangar extention that is planned.
