I photographed these M3A1 Stuart examples at the Fort Lewis Military Museum and Paine Field. When Cadillac upgraded the engine (was radial) so many changes were made to the hull of the M3 that a new designation had to be given and later versions were the M5 Stuart with larger welded hulls and radio compartments on the turrets.
