I photographed this Boeing YC-14 STOL prototype at the Pima Air Museum in Tucson, Ariz., during a visit in the spring of 2017. This airframe 72-1873 is one of only two built as proposed replacements for the C-130 Hercules, competing head-to-head with the YC-15 — which was eventually developed into the C-17 Globemaster.
