I took these photos of the sole surviving Mitsubishi J8M Shusui at the Planes of Fame museum in Chino, Calif. The name Shusui is literally “Autumn Water”, used as a poetic term meaning “Sharp Sword”. The J8M1 was intended to be a license-built copy of the Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet but was eventually reverse-engineered from manuals.
