I photographed these M1 Abrams main battle tank examples at Camp Shelby, Fort Lee and the USS Alabama Memorial in Mobile, Alabama. The museum at Camp Shelby has XM1 #004 on display.
There also is a M1A1 Training Turret displayed in Everett, Wash.
The M1 Abrams developed from the cancelled MBT-70 Main Battle Tank experiment of America and West Germany.
