I photographed the tower/sail of the USS Triton (SSRN 586) displayed in Richland, Wash.
It served for 10 years (comm 1959, decomm 1969) and was the first vessel to circumnavigate the globe submerged. The submarine was 447.5 feet long, and the displayed sail portion measures out at 75 feet long and 20 feet tall.
