Mitchell and I had fun exploring the USS Laffey (DD-724) during a visit to Patriots Point in 2013. The Laffey is the most decorated World War II-era US Destroyer still in existence. Of special interest is the Mount 53 turret with details about the kamikaze attack April 16, 1945.
