I photographed this ship’s bell from the 1925 Paddle Steamer Crested Eagle at the Dunkirk Museum in France
The Crested Eagle was docked at the east mole and had taken on about 600 British soldiers. During the evacuation it was hit by bombs from German Ju87 Stuka bombers and was run aground to save lives.
