VC-9 Nightingale “Air Force Two” (multiple)

I photographed these McDonnell Douglas VC-9C Nightingale “Air Force Two” examples at Castle AFB and the Evergreen Museum in McMinnville, OR. Sometimes referred to as “Air Force Two”, this version of the McDonnell Douglas DC-9 airliner modified to serve Vice Presidents (sometimes Presidents) and other leaders and First Ladies from 1975 to 2011.

Interestingly enough, the two examples I have seen are numbered sequentially: 73-1681 and 73-1682. I saw #1682 both in Oregon and again 8 years later and all the way across the country in Dover DE.
