I photographed this B-17 Top Turret at the Liberty Foundation’s hangar in Douglas, Georgia. I am drawn to this especially as my grandfather was a Flight Engineer/Top Turret Gunner when he flew with the 447th BG in WWII. The Liberty Foundation also had the top turret from their Dyke Lake project on loan for display at the Robins AFB museum.
