O-1 / L-19 Bird Dog / Cessna 305 (multiple)

I photographed these Cessna O-1 Bird Dog examples in Idaho, Ohio, Washington, Georgia, Washington DC, Alabama, Oshkosh and Texas. The Cessna 305, also known as the L-19 Bird Dog, was a military version of the Cessna Model 170 developed in 1950, and was redesignated as the O-1 in 1962.

This is the actual plane that was used to evacuate a family during the fall of Saigon in 1975, landing aboard the USS Midway (CV-41). It is in the museum despite never having served with the Navy, Marines or Coast Guard.
