The Lockheed L-1649 Starliner was developed as the very long-range successor to the Constellation.

Originally a military transport during the Berlin Airlift, it became Gen. Douglas MacArthur’s personal VIP transport during the Korean War. Also used by NASA as N422NA to track Apollo spacecraft.
