Boeing 747 (multiple)

I photographed these Boeing 747 examples at various locations. Even close-up, the newew technology engines were considerably quieter than what people are used to hearing from the Jumbos. The Museum of Flight has a the very first 747 displayed in the new covered Pavilion.

A special 747-123 was operated by NASA to transport Space Shuttles, and is displayed at the Johnson Space Center carrying the Shuttle “Independence”

Sadly, several of these were taken before I started trying to research the actual frame number for each plane I photographed, and have been included lower on the page than the properly identified planes.

Boeing 747 N7470 “City of Everett”

The very first of the 747 line. Boeing and NASA used this prototype airframe to conduct various structure and equipment tests.
