I photographed this Aerothermodynamic/Elastic Structure Systems Environmental Tests (ASSET) vehicle at the Sands Space History Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Originally designed to gather data for the X-20 Dyna-Soar program, it was actually valuable in designing the Space Shuttle and other spacecraft.
