I photographed this Mercury Capsule MA-10 “Freedom 7 II” at the NASM Udvar-Hazy
Alan Shepard was scheduled to fly an extended, three-day orbital mission in late 1963. He named the new spacecraft Freedom 7 II (spacecraft capsule number 15B). NASA cancelled the MA-10 mission after the success of MA-9 to shift focus toward the Gemini program
