I photographed the Douglas VC-118 Independence in the President’s gallery at the National Museum of the USAF.
This was the specially adapted version of the Douglas DC-6 to replace the aging VC-54C Sacred Cow. The Independence was first used in 1947 to transport Pres. Harry Truman.
