I photographed this Piper HE-1 at the Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum (WAAAM) in Hood River, Oregon. This was a hospital variation of the Piper J-5C Cub Cruiser, originally carrying the “HE” label (H for hospital, E for Piper) but later changed to “AE” when H designation was assigned to helicopters.
