I photographed these North American FJ-3 Fury examples at the Evergreen Aviation Museum and the Planes of Fame museum in Chino.
Its origins are from the considerably larger FJ-1 Fury design, and other refinements from the swept-wing FJ-2 Fury. Later substantial changes led to the FJ-4 Fury.
