B-29 Superfortress (multiple)

The Enola Gay photos were taken at the National Air & Space Museum’s Udvar Hazy facility during our visit to Washington DC in October 2015. Bockscar was at the NMoUSAF. Photos of the B-29 at the IMW Duxford were taken during our trip to England in 2008. Fifi visited the Museum of Flight in the summer of 2014. Before that, our very special private tour of the B-29 T-Square-54 under restoration at Boeing Field was prior to the Superfortress being shrinkwrapped for long-term storage until it finds a new place suitable for the work to continue. For now, the wings have been attached and T-Square-54 is proudly displayed in the Museum of Flight’s new covered Pavilion. During a trip to the Pima Air Museum in Tucson, I photographed the B-29 Sentimental Journey, which bears a square K on the tail and has “447” in its aircraft number… interesting! A special treat on May 20, 2022, as I got to photograph the B-29 Doc flying from Boeing Field.

When Boeing’s Plant 2 was demolished, the restoration project was moved outside and shrink-wrapped to preserve the amazing restoration work that had been done up to theat point.
