I photographed these Piper J-3 examples at Chino, NMoUSAF and Evergreen. During WWII, the Army The Army purchased 5,677 Cubs as L-4 Grasshopper to help fill the observation/liaison role.

Curiously, both the J3C examples at the WAAAM have different N-numbers (and are definitely two airframes!) but their Piper construction numbers are very similar: 4963 and 4693.
